What is worth knowing about IQOS ILUMA tobacco holders?

 

IQOS ILUMA is an innovative device that takes tobacco heating to an even higher level thanks to SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM™ technology. It relies on the induction method for seamless heating of high-quality tobacco – it uses a metal heating element coated with stainless steel that has been placed inside the TEREA tobacco stick. The device heats tobacco, instead of burning it, makes it easier to draw and produces more aerosol. Inside the IQOS ILUMA – unlike its older generations – there is no heating blade, which was the foundation of the HeatControl™ system used in devices such as the IQOS Originals DUO and the IQOS 3 DUO. Both technologies heat tobacco sticks and have nothing in common with regular cigarettes, but the process has been upgraded in the IQOS ILUMA.

 

Heating tobacco using the induction method is quick and easy – more aerosol is produced during your experience, the flavour is more intense and no tobacco residue remains inside the device. Users of the IQOS ILUMA do not need to worry about cleaning the device from tobacco residue every day.

 

 

IQOS ILUMA – new technology, new design

 

The sleeve of the IQOS ILUMA PRIME is made of aluminium and the other components come in a leather or fabric wrap. The IQOS ILUMA PRIME tobacco holder is available in 4 standard colour versions, while the IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA ONE are available in 5 and, unlike the former, are made entirely of aluminium. The IQOS ILUMA ONE – like the lil SOLID Ez – is an “all in one” device, i.e. the holder and pocket charger form a single whole.

Which tobacco sticks are suitable for IQOS ILUMA holders?

 

Only TEREA sticks are suitable for the IQOS ILUMA. . Inside the stick is a metal heating element coated with stainless steel. It is because of this that the tobacco is heated seamlessly and that flavour experience during the draw is deeper.

 

Please note that TEREA sticks should not be placed in previous generations of IQOS holders. These may damage the heating blade and make the holder unusable for further use. Conversely, HEETS or Fiit sticks should not be included in the new version of the device.

 

This limitation is due to the fact that holders use different tobacco heating technologies – the IQOS 2.4, IQOS 2.4 PLUS, IQOS, IQOS 3 MULTI, IQOS 3, IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS ORIGINALS DUO models use HEAT CONTROL to heat tobacco. The lil Solid 2.0 and lil Solid Ez heat the tobacco via the heating needle, while the IQOS ILUMA heats tobacco through induction, which is the foundation of the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM technology.

 

 

 

Technologia SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM technology – what is it?

 

Thanks to the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM technology, the IQOS ILUMA heats the tobacco seamlessly from the inside and outside of the TEREA tobacco stick. This is possible thanks to the metal heating elements included in TEREA tobacco sticks. Stainless steel components are something which will not be found in HEETS or Fiit sticks – it is a sharp metal part that poses a serious danger if misused, e.g. if swallowed. That is why both the holder and the suitable tobacco sticks should be kept out of reach of children and pets.

 

TEREA sticks are sealed on both ends with a filter so that no tobacco residue falls into or contaminates the device when heating and drawing. The new technology is also easier to use – by inserting a stick in the holder, the tobacco automatically starts heating.
